In comparison to automatic cars, a manual car is more difficult to manoeuvre due to the added complexity
of changing gears. This means you will likely require more lessons in a manual car before your driving skills are up to
test standard.
The main reason most people nevertheless choose the manual option is that passing
your test in a manual car entitles you to a full driving licence.
A full driving licence
A full driving licence means you can drive any type of car, be it automatic or manual.
If you pass your test in an automatic car however, you will receive an automatic licence which
restricts you to drive automatic cars only. Should you later wish to drive a manual car, you will
need to pass another test to obtain a full driving licence.
