Terms and Conditions

General

Your use of the Drivecoach Driving School (“Drivecoach”) website is subject to the terms and conditions on this page. By using this website you indicate your agreement to such terms. If you do not agree to the terms laid out on this page, please do not use this website. Drivecoach may at any time, and without notice, make changes to this site and the services and products described within it. Some information on this site may be factually inaccurate and/or contain errors.

Driving licence

To take driving lessons with Drivecoach, you must ensure you are the holder of a valid, signed current driving licence which must be produced at the first lesson and may be regularly checked by your Instructor. You must inform your instructor promptly if you receive any endorsements on your licence. You must also inform your instructor of any disabilities you have which may affect your ability to drive.

Cancellation and postponement policy

You are expected to provide at least 24 hours notice to your Instructor in order to cancel or re-arrange any previously booked driving lessons. Failure to do so may result in your Instructor charging you the full rate for such lessons. Late cancellations or postponements in respect of prepaid lessons cannot be refunded.

Paying for driving lessons

You can pay for driving lessons with Drivecoach by credit or debit card by calling us on free-phone 0330 111 6858. A 2.1% payment charge applies to credit card payments. If you choose to pay your Instructor directly you should always obtain a receipt for the monies you have paid.

NOTE: Drivecoach Driving School is not party to the contract between you and your Instructor and therefore it accepts no responsibility for any payments you make directly to your Instructor.

Pre-paid lessons and Gift Vouchers

Any pre-paid lessons must be taken within six months of the date of payment. Drivecoach Gift Vouchers must be used within eight months of the date of purchase. You will not be entitled to a refund following the expiry of such period.

Should you wish to get a refund for a block of pre-paid lessons within six months of purchase, any lessons that you have used out of that block will be deducted at the standard pay-as-you-go rate for your area.

Driving tests

The instructor will advise you of the appropriate time to make an application for a practical test. This advice will be based on your progress to date. It does not imply that you have reached the necessary driving standards or that you are guaranteed to reach such necessary standards of driving before the test date. Your Instructor will advise – where necessary – the postponement of your practical test if he or she believes that your skills are lacking in one or more areas of the DSA syllabus. This condition is intended to save you unnecessary test expenses, unnecessary failure and the consequent delay in waiting for another practical test.

You are required to notify your instructor as soon as possible of the date and time of your practical driving test. The Instructor cannot guarantee availability of the school car for test appointments that have not been booked with his/her explicit consent. It is therefore essential that you co-ordinate your test booking with your Instructor.

The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the school car for your test or a lesson if in his/her opinion you are:

  • not at driving test standard
  • medically unfit (including eyesight)
  • under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • not properly licenced to drive
  • falling into arrears over payment

…or if for any other reason the Instructor considers you unsafe to handle a motor vehicle.
